PhD proposal : Numerical simulations of the cavitation erosion process

In the framework of the European CaFE project, two PhD students will be hired to develop numerical simulations of the cavitation erosion process. They will join a French team working in two laboratories of the Grenoble Institute of Technology, LEGI and SIMAP. Both fluid and material issues will be addressed. Focus will be put on (i) the fluid structure interaction that is crucial for compliant materials and (ii) damage mechanisms that control wall erosion.

The two PhD students will join a group of 15 PhD students involved in the CaFE project and preparing simultaneously their PhD in different European countries. They will all attend common training events and conferences and will have numerous opportunities of exchanging on their research work.

Further information on the research activity is available by contacting one of the following supervisors or the Euraxess site.

For application, please send a CV together with names and contact information of potential referees for recommendation. Please, note that candidates should not have spent more than 1 year in France during the last 3 years. The target date for start is June 2015.
